| These fifteen paintings are part of a series of 32 bar codes from my grocery list. I made each with acrylic paint on illustration board that is 30 x 22 inches. My original idea for this project was to paint the corresponding bar codes to Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans. I saw a complete set of 32 screenprinted soup cans when I was ten, and I remember how they dominated this one giant wall. For my piece I wanted to create a large wall installation that screams technology, and do it without using a computer. |
