| These twelve paintings are part of a series of 32 bar codes from my grocery list. I make each painting with acrylic paint on illustration board that is 30 x 22 inches. My original idea for this project was to paint the corresponding bar codes to Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans. When I was ten, I saw a complete set of 32 screenprinted soup cans in Washington, D.C. I remember how they dominated this one giant wall in the museum. For my piece I wanted to create a wall that screams technology, and do it without using a computer. |
