I started working on this portrait the night Arnold was elected to Governor of California. At the time I was living in San Francisco and got inspired by all of the commotion. I collected 86 bar codes from the actor's movies which are available in DVD and VHS format as well as some versions in Spanish. I arranged the bar code tiles in a four point radial pattern to add another dimension to this piece. The red eye was inspired by Schwarzenegger's Terminator movies, is also used to reference the red computer eye in bar code scanners. It took me two months to complete this bar code portrait.
