| ISBN/Oprah/Book Club/Canceled uses the density and scale of each bar code in opposition to create an overall neutral gray pattern. I created this flat picture by resizing each bar code to match a single value. Once I have completed building a halftone, I can process any image with it. I made this halftone so that any image I render with it would basically look the same. For this portrait I took the Oprah out of "Oprah's Book Club" to highlight the other elements at work in this image. This series is as much about Oprah's cult following, as it is my process behind making a bar code portrait. |
